@the.pa.tient: I love @twiistdiabetes pump so much!!! Not everyone has this skin reaction. I’m hoping they come out with their own hypoallergenic infusion set soon!! #t1d #type1diabetes #t1dawareness #diabetesawareness
I just started after OMNIPOD didn’t work out for me it would leak insulin and had to change before it was expired. With the twiist I keep smelling insulin insulin from the cannula site but don’t feel my skin being wet. Anyone else had this issue?

Love this for you!! Twiist didn't work out for me so I switched back to my other pump. I've seen people do so well!

I don’t know if you have tried this but sometimes if you spray Flonase after the alcohol wipe and let it dry it can help with irritation. That’s what I do.

Mine is $75 a month until I reached deductibles. I love twiist. Cleo works about 75% of the time I’ve found, just kinked canula or it doesn’t stick, etc. once you fine tune the algorithm:… so freaking good. Wish there were better clips out there too.

I’m so happy for you! I’ve been on the twiist since December and love it. Also love their customer service a lot of them use the twiist also. I’m also not a big fan of the Cleo either but I don’t have rashes from it like you do. Yikes! I just can’t get mine to stick that well sometimes so I put a patch over it that I DIYed myself lol. I hope the tape works for you cause I’d hate to see you go away from the twiist cause who knows when they’re coming out with a different infusion set

I love the twiist. I started on it back in January. I was on the Medtronic mini med 4 years ago and it got way too expensive.i had to go to Omnipod and it was okay but it didn’t help when I was so used to the Medtronic. Then I switched to the twiist and omg. My A1C is down to 5.9 and it has helped tremendously with having a similar algorithm to the mini med. Granite not exact but it’s similar. And the price is very very affordable for me

A lot of people are allergic to skin tac, my teen is allergic. We use skin glu instead. She taps on the edges of Cleo and then inserts it. We are fortunate and do not have issues with Cleo, not completely sold on the Twiist algorithm. Our control was definitely less variable on O5. Not sure if we will be able to maintain the non diabetic A1C we consistently had in O5. Afrezza has completely changed the stubborn highs my teen gets on the pump.

I’ve heard some people use the beta bionic islet pump sites!! It has the same piece that connects to the cartridge. I think you have to order from a different pharmacy than the rest of the sites but you could try this! I’m thinking of asking my doctor at my next appointment to do this for me 🤞
