I work at a pool bar on a rooftop in Nashville. There’s lounge chairs and people move into the pool so the seat number thing is kind of tough, but we do have tables inside small seating area —starting seat number from the left as number one and then working pot wise correct?

Take care of baseball teams a lot. I tell them straight up- if you’re not paying a bill, don’t order from me. Go tell someone who’s got a credit card. Everyone who orders something gets a tab.

Please don’t be afraid to ask your table how the check is being split up front. Tell them it’ll make the check out process simpler, and that you don’t want to make them wait 5-10 mins for you to split up a check once they’re done eating.

I had a party of 20 come in and they were so awesome that they actually wore name tags to help me. It was so fun because I got to use their names instead of sir and ms. But I also take charge of my big parties. I even do a menu tour for the whole group so I don’t have to repeat the soup and salad options 20 different times lol. And then I joke with them and say “if you play musical chairs, you may end up paying for someone’s meal”. They always laugh and agree not to move seats.

It messes me up so bad when kids keep moving around changing seats and then food comes out. And they say it belongs to the blonde one. They are all blonde 👱♀️they all look exactly the same to me 😭

I just let everyone know right off the hop that I’m ringing things in by seat number, so everyone needs to stay in their original seats. If they start moving, I’ll give one warning before I let them know they’ll be getting one check and they can figure it out the payment themselves. lol I’ve never actually had to give one check

I like to split checks at the end but I do everything in order to make it easier. You never know how much a single person is gonna order so just keep track and split at the end.

Seat number is not always guaranteed since they tend to play musical chairs… than they add more after asking for split separate check as well… so you will take bit longer when trying to separate the tabs… also we do not know them by names… hate it when they say oh that’s Tonya that Tony or that Rob, that’s Simon etc like who’s who and what’s what
