@sarahkraffty: Buttermilk Brownies- A recipe from my grandma’s cook book! (You may know this as Texas sheet cake) Ingredients (step 1) 8 tbsp salted butter 1 cup water 1/4 cup Hershey’s cocoa 1/2 cup vegetable oil Step 2: 2 cups all purpose flour 2 cups sugar 1 tsp salt Step 3: 1/2 cup buttermilk 2 large eggs 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp vanilla extract Icing: 8 tbsp salted butter 1/4 cup Hershey’s cocoa 1/3 cup buttermilk 1 lb powdered sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract A dash of salt 1.5 to 2 cups chopped pecans (measure with your heart) this is optional! How to: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Combine butter, water, cocoa, and oil in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat immediately when bubbling. Next in a mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, and salt. Pour chocolate mixture into dry ingredients and mix well. Next add in buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla. Mix until well combined. Pour in a greased jelly roll pan (I used a 18x13) bake at 375 for 15-20 mins. While that’s baking make the icing! In a sauce pan combine butter, cocoa, and buttermilk. Bring to a boil on medium heat and remove immediately. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt. Mix well. Add pecans. Spread over hot cake and serve! #brownies #homemade #cake #Recipe #desserts
