we did not lose the vietnam war just for reference if vietnam tried to recreate the memorial with how many soliders they lost it would cost 159,310,200 dollars and it only cost us 8.2million dollars

To everyone in the comment section who thinks that the us army was against rice farmers with bad weapons, they weren’t. The us was up against actual soldiers from Vietnam’s own army. There guns were better than the USA’s in a way and they would also use deadly traps and a tactic called guerrilla warfare which who be a small army ambushing the enemy. They also had rat tunnels which was super hard for the US army to clear but would also allow Vietnam’s soldiers to move around very fast without being at risk of being attacked. So in conclusion, the US was not just up against rice farmers but strategic, properly trained solder of Vietnam who knew their country better than anyone

America won the Vietnam war and anyone who says otherwise doesnt know the history. Americas singular goal in the war was the retention of the 54th parallel. North Vietnam was brought to the peace table in 1973 and they agreed to affirm the 54th parallel. America and Vietnam signed a peace deal where America achieved all its objectives and got everything it wanted. Thats called winning. South Vietnam fell 2 years later in a DIFFERENT WAR. The Second Indochina War. America explicitly was never involved. How can America lose a war it was never a part of?

The U.S. wanted South Vietnam to remain independent. It eventually fell to North Vietnam after the U.S. withdrew. not saying the won but id consider it a win for them
