100% appliances. My grandmother's fridge just died last summer. It was 55 years old. It came with a Sears lifetime warranty which is why it finally died. It out lived Sears.

I know someone who has a 1960's refrigerator in his garage, and it still works, cars lasted longer not because they didn't break down but because it was cheap and easy to repair them. televisions lasted decades, I recently had a radio from the eighties that still worked

Anything with the Sears brand Kenmore. Kitchen appliances, washer dryer, vacuum cleaner. Kenmore would easily last 50 years.

Housing. Look at any house in the UK made centuries ago. They’re all stone with underfloor heating and solid beams and roof tiles. Then look at American new builds. Those are basically cardboard and I have no clue how Americans survive as many floods or tornadoes as they do.

My parents bought a refrigerator in 1954 that was still working in 2010 when they sold their house. Never needed any maintenance other than defrosting freezer annually and changing the light bulb when it burned out. That’s what was meant.
