fun tip from an espresso repair technician. to get a quality pull from your machine you need to calibrate the grinder to where your shot pull takes between 25-30 seconds. if the pull takes longer than that the beans are ground to fine and if its faster than they are to course. also when you use your tamper ( the pusher thing) it only takes 30lbs of pressure to tamp your portafilter (the handle thing). also if you change your beans it will need to be recalibrated as each brand of beans have different textures and oil concentration. you're welcome! 🫶🏼

hey! as someone who was a barista, you don’t have to push the grounds too hard or else you won’t be able to get the full beans (as in the middle) then wasting what could be even better! push it down enough to where it’s flat &’ neat.
