New York is like looking at a large building with some lights and then you turn around and it’s just the rest of the ordinary city not decorated- would not recommend

Forest City, NC has beautiful lights and is like a Hallmark movie! You can do a horse drawn carriage ride, Ice Skating, there is a Santa House for the kids to See Santa, POPS is decorated and has the huge Christmas ball for photos! There is plenty of ma and pop stores on main street Forest City to shop at.

I had a GREAT time in Strasbourg, France during Christmas time!! My Airbnb was $400 for three nights, we took public transport and there are tons of different Christmas markets in Strasbourg and surrounding towns. You can eat cheap and still have a nice meal. I feel like it could be right around the price of NYC (flights to France and everything) but really depends on your travel style. I personally go for the vibes and don’t spend tons of money if I don’t need to. So fun!!

Quebec City, Canada, is also a literal dream and looks like a Hallmark movie! ❄️The Fairmont Le Château Frontenac hotel is iconic and incredible, it’s uphill and a short from a bunch of shops, markets, and restaurants, and they even have a toboggan ride on the property! It’s definitely a splurge though.
