@jennifer.lauren.rose: There’s a particular kind of fear that can arise before a medicine ceremony, the moment when your heart starts pounding. I’ve come to believe that sometimes we aren’t afraid of the medicine itself. We’re afraid of the surrender it asks of us. The things we’ve avoided, repressed, denied, intellectualized, or haven’t been ready to feel can rise to the surface and ask to be met. Medicine work has changed my life. Among its many lessons, it has taught me the art of surrender and the ability to meet what arises over and over, and to know that beneath it all is an infinite field of love. ✦
The shame fear and terror is the medicine🤯the reframe I needed.

I’m so impressed with your journey and get so much value out of what you share. But I often times find myself slightly overwhelmed at the prospect of embarking on this sort of journey myself. Like, I know that there’s a gap but the work to close it feels overwhelming sometimes. I’m not sure if that’s normal or not.
