Making a living off breeding any animal is weird. Ethical breeders aren’t making a living off of the animals they are breeding. That’s the difference. Ethical breeders go sometimes years between litters and care more about the health of their animals than the profit they make. 😳

There was video proof of someone walking through her kennels. They were dirty, dogs were covered in dirt, had pressure sores, and a lot of the dogs flinched and acted terrified of them. It’s horrible

I told my breeder what i wanted. she matched me with two puppies from the litter. just happened to get lucky and 2 puppies, either one, would fit our family perfect. so i did get to choose between a boy and a girl just because I lucked out with two matches.

Genuinely, what makes a good breeder? I’m only asking, because I don’t think I’ve actually ever seen a breeder be praised as ethical. Looking back, all of my dogs were purchased from backyard breeders because I didn’t know better 🙃
