@goatcult.media: On August 13, 2026, three states carried out executions by lethal injection on the same day something that hadn’t happened in the United States since January 2010. The executions took place in Oklahoma, Tennessee and Alabama. In Oklahoma, Carlos Cuesta-Rodriguez, 70, was executed for the 2003 murder of his former girlfriend, Olimpia Fisher. He had acknowledged responsibility and declined to seek clemency. About 30 minutes later, Tennessee executed Anthony Darrell Hines, 66, for the 1985 murder of motel employee Katherine Jean Jenkins. Hines maintained his innocence through the end. Hours later, Alabama executed Jeremy Williams, 42, for the 2021 rape and murder of 5-year-old Kamarie Holland. Williams had pleaded guilty, asked for the death penalty and declined further appeals. Together, the three executions marked the first triple execution day in the U.S. in nearly 16 years.
