@realnatberman2: Sometimes the kindest people you’ll ever meet smoke, drink, curse, and carry a little roughness around the edges. And some of the most evil people you’ll ever meet sit in church every Sunday looking perfectly respectable. Packaging and character are not the same measurement, and most people spend their entire lives confusing the two. Someone can dress the part and check every visible box society uses to define a good person, while never once showing up for anyone when it actually costs them something. Real character does not live in appearances or reputation. It lives in the moments nobody is grading. How someone treats a waiter who cannot do anything for them. Whether they tell the truth when a lie would be easier and nobody would ever find out. None of that gets photographed. None of that goes on a resume. But all of it is the actual evidence of who a person is underneath the packaging. Before deciding who someone is based on how they dress or talk, ask better questions. How do they love when nobody is watching them do it. Do they actually show up when it matters, or only when showing up is easy and visible. The cleanest image in the room can hide the coldest heart. The roughest exterior can hold the warmest one. Character reveals itself in private, not in public. Comment the word “BETTER” and give yourself 90 days, one rep a day, one dollar a month, building the habits that compound into results.
