this is so oversimplified for what an org needs. you need controlled vocabularies, a quad store, semantic layer, classified data, catalogued data that's AI ready, PBAC & TBAC implemented. an MCP gateway with guardrails etc. you can't just whip up an MCP. and people in the comments have literally no idea how complicated this is, if they think what you are saying is feasible or realistic.

Mcp is a token hog. Prefer API. Loops. Workflows. Mcp has a place but I’d be really picky about where to use it

TJ, I love your content, but I have a serious question. For small to mid-sized businesses doing under $1 million a year, how are we realistically supposed to execute all of this? As business owners, we watch videos telling us we need to focus on SEO, content, social media, Google, reviews, email marketing, paid ads, and a dozen other things. The problem is, most of us are already spending our days actually running the business and delivering the product or service that pays the bills. Eventually, we realize we can’t do it all ourselves, so we hire an SEO or marketing firm, spend thousands of dollars over 6 to 12 months, and sometimes see little to no measurable return. So my serious question is: What should a small-business owner actually do? What should we handle ourselves, what should we outsource, and how do we know whether the company we’re paying actually knows what they’re doing? I’d love to see you do a video specifically addressing this from the perspective of a small-business owner who doesn’t have an in-house marketing department or an unlimited budget.

the real MCP token tax is clients resending full tool lists every turn. keeping tool surfaces tight (Owl Browser defaults to 20 instead of 80) cuts that overhead in half.

Amazing work my bro, how about an mpc for an online fitness brand - how would and why would it be integrated- specifically, what data and skills could I give it ( hypothetically)

I agree that this is an amazing tool to have, but it has to be accessible by your AI agent. There is a reason the internal company network is not accessible without a VPN, and now an MCP is supposed to bypass all of that security. It’s a scary thing to open your network to, so it requires a lot of care to set up authentication and authorization. If more companies set this up, that interface will certainly become a prime target for cyber attacks.

Shouldn't every organisation be looking at what they want to achieve and review all their processes in the light of AI? Doing what you've always done will just get you to the same place faster, while used properly, AI could move mountains. I understand what you're saying but it feels limited.

MCP is what you use when it doesn't have API.

I am adept at promoting a context, but feel lost on MCP, and notion. I understand what they do, but feel like this is the next right step

Not what ever you want!! There are many things you can’t do. It’s up to the system you connect to.
