I worked as a AML Specialist for 3 years and i can tell you, this isn't something that is a snap decision. it can take a long time to build a case to close accounts. you need to make sure you have a solid evidence and can prove it. for a bank this size to do this, they know were the financial bodies are which should be a huge red flag to the public. However, they are not ready for that conversation.
