My mama always called it democrat bread lol. Usually when she made it she would make it with chocolate gravy, so it was always a good thing to see the big pone cooking!

My mamaw always made it and called it whole cake, because it was a whole cake of biscuits. We are from Alabama. It is so good with butter and honey or syrup.
