This kind of reminds me of lady Izdihar’s video about how reading and engaging in fiction centred around the topic of being taken care of and looked after is a result of Capitalism, since it exists as a form of escapism from Capitalism and it’s mental taxation, such as having to worry about paying off your house and buying necessities to live, it just goes to show how fiction can also be used as a tool by Capitalism, escapism, like reformist social democracy, is merely a tool to pacify the proletariat to avoid sparking revolutionary fervor
