My guess is that they want standard packaging for all spices, but nutmeg is used in small quantities and loses its aroma quickly, and is relatively expensive. So a full container to match your spice rack would be super expensive as well as kind of wasteful. I suggest buying whole nutmegs and a micro plane.

Walmart products & brands are consistently under weight as labeled & they constantly have class action lawsuits for them. Only a certain # of people will notice and even less will seek a refund; it's on purpose.
