When I was in my early twenties (now in my 50s) I worked in a large factory looking after the staff clocking-in cards, and assigning the individual card numbers to the 2000 or so (all male) staff. One time, I had to find out everyone’s numbers after a file got deleted and I sent out an all-staff email to ask for their clock numbers, but I left the “L” out of “clock”. Still mortified 30 years later. 😂

So at my work place we are allowed to work from home once a week. There is an email group most people send an email too when they will be out of office and when working from home incase someone tries to find them at their desk. The subject like is usually “WFH (the date)” or something along those lines. I accidentally sent “WTF (the date)”. Not huge but it was to all the upper level staff at my place of work and it was relatively close to when i started so i was mortified. Tbh now i know most people ignore those anyway so it was probably not noticed by many people but i dont know at least a few probably saw and got a little chuckle.

You read out mine but didn’t include all of it 😅 I was the bereavement girl. This was my submission: I work in medical administration and I was on the phone with a patient, she explained she has had to take bereavement leave and I so confidentially and happily said “oh that’s so nice!! Enjoy!!”. When her reaction didn’t match my energy at all, I googled what bereavement meant and almost passed away myself 🙃

It was my first day of an internship at a museum; I arrived and rang the bell at a side entrance to get in. The museum is called Marco, and when someone answered the intercom, they said, "Marco," and I replied, "Polo." I wanted to die of embarrassment.

My friend’s father died. It was a traditional Jewish funeral that landed on a holiday. My wife was very nervous about what to say to the devastated grieving widow. As we were saying our goodbyes to the family my wife says “I’m so very sorry for your loss… oh and Happy Hanukkah” 😳 With grace the widow said “Thank you dear, it’s not but thank you anyway” 🤦♀️She was mortified, I said “Happy Hanukkah?!?!” She said “I know I panicked!” To this day we all chuckle about it, she’s still embarrassed but we will never let her live it down 😆

I constantly think about when my boss CCed me and a lot of other people on an email to someone named Bobby and said "Hi Booby". I don't know if she even realized she did it but we all giggled for a while

I will never forget the time I opened up the BCNA campaign materials box for my Bakers Delight store and read one of the 500 printed pamphlets only to discover someone had accidentally written BREAD cancer instead of BREAST cancer 🤦♀️these were sent to 500 stores. I still wonder if that haunts the person who did it…
