In Ukrainian and Polish mythologies there is also a Dvoyedushnik - literally the person who born with two souls, which makes this person both magically sensitive and a strong witcher, but also causes him to become a Upior after death. It was believed that they also had power over other upior and witches during their lifetime.

‘The house if messy’ applies better to Domovoi. Literally a small entity that is the personification of your house/household. Messy house > unhappy domovoi > messy life, disease and misfortunes. Clean house + small offerings > happy domovoi > happy life.

vodník- literally a guy in green suit with a hat with ribbons that lives in every pond, is mostly friendly with local village folk, drowns bad people and keeps their souls in little jars underwater. for more disturbing stories I recommend s book named Kytice. it has MANY disturbing stories and folclore writren in poems, we used to learn those by heart. I still remember my part till today🤣

Important to remember that many of these "monsters" were quite ambiguous, and represented a balance of good&bad traits. A character like Baba Jaga could be benevolent or harmful depending on the story or the person who encounters them.

a large part about the baptism of children or about Egyptians are christian additions, because it must be remembered that Slavic mythology was written down only after Christianity reached those areas. Because the Slavs did not have their own writing system. I know from other sources that in Poland (I don't know about other Slavic countries) there was a tradition of giving a name to a child when they got their first haircut. so these monsters that referring to the fact that the child was not baptized or must be baptized to stop being a monster, probably originally it was because it didn't have a name or something like that
