@cybersecuredad: ⚠️ You sign a waiver so your kid can jump, tumble, or head off to camp. Read past the injury part. A lot of these forms, at trampoline parks, indoor play centers, kids' gyms, gymnastics, summer camps, even daycares, include a photo and media release. It usually sits right alongside the liability language, so it's easy to sign without noticing. Some are narrow and reasonable. Others are broad: an irrevocable, unrestricted right to use your child's name, face, and voice in advertising, marketing, and social media, in any medium, with no compensation or notice to you. A few say you can't revoke it once the image is in use. It may not be anything sinister, but it's still your child's image going public, and every post adds to a digital footprint they never agreed to and can't easily erase. The good news: you usually have a say. 📋 Look for a decline or opt-out box. Many forms have one. ✅ Watch for tiered consent. Some let you allow private updates but block public marketing. 🔒 No box? Ask staff to strike the media clause. It's separate from the injury waiver, and plenty of places will honor it. You can protect your kid's image and still let them play. Those are two different signatures. Send this to a parent signing a kid up for something this week. 🫡 Follow CyberSecureDad to keep your family safe online.
