Fun fact: In the original fairytale the stepsisters are repeatedly described as strikingly beautiful, even in comparison to Cinderella's appearance, which is not complimented as much. Instead, the focus is on Cinderella's wit, compassion, and kindness. I kind of hate how modern adaptations turned it into "beautiful girl escapes jealous ugly stepsisters" when one of the themes of the original story was that their beauty fell short of Cinderella's genuinely good nature despite her being uglier than them. It was about kindness outshining beauty, instead of beauty outshining hiding. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

The film literally says they are every bit as ugly within as they were fair so they are supposed to be beautiful but their personalities are ugly which is the original point of Cinderella
