@drmichaelhforde: I’m in Harlem, where a regiment born from this neighborhood became one of the most feared units in World War One. 🪖 The Army wouldn’t let them fight beside white soldiers, so France took them instead. Henry Johnson ran out of bullets, grabbed a knife, and fought off roughly two dozen enemy soldiers alone. The regiment fought 191 straight days and never lost a trench. This past September, they finally received the Congressional Gold Medal. 🙏🏾
