You also gotta give credit to Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa flexing its neck and scaring most storms away before it hits the rest of the state, which is why Hilo always gets cracks while Kona is sunny and dry 🤣

I don’t know, in March hundreds of families lost their homes to flooding. We have had many floods due to storms over the years so it’s not as rare as you’re making it sound.

You can tell there’s not hurricanes ever in Hawaii. The way the houses are built. I’m originally from PR and our houses are build in cement for a reason. Our houses in Hawaii are mostly made of wood. If a hurricane came we would be cooked.
