🚨 Handling the “sneaky” colleague 👇 When someone acts in a way that feels sneaky or underhand, it can be really tricky to figure out the best way to respond. Because the behaviour is subtle, others might not notice it which can make addressing it feel even harder. It’s tempting to go in quite directly or even accusatorily, but this often backfires. If your aim is to stop the behaviour, you’ll need a more constructive approach. Here’s what I recommend: 1️⃣ Stay composed and respectful (you don’t need to match their energy) 2️⃣ Start with curiosity rather than assumptions 3️⃣ Explain what you’ve noticed and how it’s coming across. Share the impact and give them space to clarify. For example: “From what I’ve seen, it appears that [INSERT] may have influenced your decision. I’m hoping I’ve misread the situation because [INSERT]” Speaking up in a measured, respectful way can often be enough to make someone reconsider their actions. 💬 Have you ever dealt with behaviour like this? Share your experiences in the comments 👀 📌 Please remember the advice offered in this video is generalised and will not fit every situation. There are different ways this could be approached, so please use your own judgement and adapt it as you see fit. You’ve got this 💪 💾 Save this in case you ever need it ✈️ Share with someone dealing with a similar situation 🚀 Follow for more tips on handling tricky situations at work #worktips #leadershipdevelopment #corporatelife #emotionalintelligence #difficultconversations #assertivecommunication #difficultpeople #boundaries
