Prongs are only good and work if you have the right size, a good brand, and you know how to use it. If that is not the case then you get screwed

With out training you can buy every collar style/harness style you want. There is no magic item that will replace training. A prong collar paired with professional training absolutely worked better than a pile of “no pull” harnesses for my staffy.

I use a prong collar. He never pulls anymore and it’s never to tight on him. Hes also naked unless we are walking. He loves his collar he gets it and brings it to me over his harness he hates the harness

german shepherd owner. prong for the leash (she loves her prong and will actually bring it to me when she wants her walk) flat collar for tags, mini e trainer for off leash because we live on 100 acres (she rarely needs it for recall anymore and it says on a level one or two)

so prongs used correctly don’t cause fear nor do they hurt. whatever tool works for the individual dog is what’s best.

I have an irish wolf hound, i use a prong collar on her, she isnt afraid of it. Its practically impossible to keep her in line with a normal harness or collar.

hey so harnesses were designed to make the dog pull harder sooooo ALSO a harness still needs to be TAUGHT how to walk nicely just slapping the harness on does nothing
