Amazon used to be where you went to pay less than you would in the physical store or even the direct online store. Now Amazon is the worst deal across the board.

It should be more like a registry that consolidates the items into one place. As a teacher, the Amazon wish list is just the easiest way to do it.

For our room at least it’s just easier to have a link to Amazon (mostly for ideas) but we don’t care where it comes from!!

This is all that I need to get for my 7 year old, the Irish government provide the rest. Same with secondary school (highschool). All of my 14 year olds books and stationary is provided for my the Irish government- new measure introduced in the last 2 years. Has saved me at least €1000

Just contact the teachers and talk to they. Throwing a list together is just an easy way for them to put it all together. I’m sure if you contact them and say “hey, I will purchase such and such for you but I’m not doing it thru Amazon. Cross it off your list and I will drop the item off have it mailed to you directly to the school from the company I use”. I’m sure they will not care where the item comes from, just that they get the item.

that's when you send the kid with a little first day of school. It's a pleasure to meet you package of the supplies from the list.

That’s not asking for support, it’s taking advantage of your generosity.

Maybe they doom scrolling Amazon and it’s just where they store the list. And it may have been easier to send you that and turn your shopping skills loose. My cart is crazy

Did I miss a video? Are you sure the out of towners are actually teachers too?? Most teachers I know appreciate anything they are given and are pretty practical!

Teachers would be better asking for 5$ gift cards. They can then shop local and sales. Teachers could even pool and buy bulk and split.

20/40% of prices on Amazon is pure Amazon fees and has nothing to do with the prod duct at all. Sellers inflate the prices to cover Amazon fees and include margins for the return rates in Amazon. Not for the product.

The thing about Amazon is it’s a platform that thousands of sellers use. Unless it’s an AMAZON BASICS product you have to shop it and search for the lowest price of the exact same item because 20 “shops sell it.

Go down to Scraps KC and ask to donate some teacher sponsorships. For $35 a year, teachers in the metro can shop once a month and fill an entire basket with donated items.
