Giving a patient a few options, discussing risks and benefits of each and allowing patient autonomy? Seems right to me. I feel like providers shitting on other providers for a patient they never evaluated is a bad look.

Are you actually watching the entire trial & not just TikTok clips? Lindsay never told any of her providers that she was hearing voices & she never showed signs of psychosis. I’m a NP (not psych) and we can only know what we observe and what the patient tells us. Patients have to be held accountable to their treatment plans too. It makes no difference what we prescribe if the patient is not willing to to take it

As a provider myself unless you have personally reviewed the records then you should not be making any judgements on social media. You e learned about bias, right? The attorneys are there to win a court case so I guarantee not everything is being disclosed in court.

If one of your patients kills themselves or someone else, I guarantee a legal team will pick apart everything you charted, finding mistakes either real,or perceived. Then they will pay another psychiatric nurse practitioner tons of money to testify that they would have prescribed different treatments and that would have prevented the tragedy. Easy to criticize AFTER the bad outcome is known.

As someone with mental health issues I would not want you as my NP becuase you are clearly very judgmental. You are saying someone is not qualified based off their voice and how they drink water? What on earth do you say about your clients then? Making fun of peoples voices on the internet to prove your superior would in no way make me feel comfortable being honest with my problems. And also, this case is to DETERMINE if she was/was not of sound mind so since you were not there yourself to asses her at her drs appt- maybe not try to asses her mental state like you were. She is also a nurse, so she does have some idea about medications. As a nurse my psychiatrist has asked me at times how I feel about trying a certain medication and I have also asked if I could be stopped and possibly started on specific ones as well.

This is such an unprofessional take when you didn’t access the patient yourself. They asked her the questions. She denied SI/HI hallucinations , delusions appeared neat and clean etc. please before you pass judgement know the facts

If a patient is informed and curious about a specific medication, that’s one thing. Like “hey I’ve had x med in the past and it worked well for me in a similar situation.” But I’ve had a bad reaction to psychiatric meds and my doctor offered an anxiety med, but if she asked what I wanted…. Like… idk 🤷🏻♀️

I thought it was really weird that they gave her Ativan and Benadryl? is that something you would expect to use together to treat her symptoms? I work in healthcare and Ive never heard of that before so I'm just curious

The fact that none of these people thought to say “hey, we need to have an in home safety plan for Lindsay while we figure this out” Instead, they seasoned her with benzos and didn’t bother to communicate with one another whatsoever. Meanwhile Lindsay is running 5ks and not sleeping for days on end. My dad is a doctor, and in family med, he’s prescribed his share of psych meds. He is HORRIFIED. In his words, “this is one where you call in the cavalry because you’re at a point where your expertise is knowing that you lack expertise and need help.”
