@kira.nex.tech: China’s GPMI cable challenges Western tech standards with one universal plug. It delivers 8K video, 192 GBps speed, and 500W power, replacing HDMI, USB, and more—all with plug-and-play ease. A game-changer for connectivity and tech control. #gpmi #chinainnovation #universalcable #techstandard #connectivity

China is just building a cable so they don't have to pay royalties to HDMI.

problem: there are 4 competing "all use" cables
solution: make a better cable to replace all of them
result: there are 5 competing "all use" cables

Another superior Chinese technology that will be blocked by the US. Other examples include smart phones and watches, and electric vehicles.

They won’t allow it here, because all the major companies will feel threatened and the government say it will be use to spy on us

This article is not telling the full truth. GPMI is more than a cable, its a standard. It requires new chips (made by china) to be embedded into computers, the cable is a small part. This is almost fully similar to Thunderbolt.

Considering they claim an app they had no control over was filled with communist propaganda and spyware I think there is a very slim chance they wouldn’t attempt to block any of these to be sold in the US especially when a lot of law makers have their hands in stocks associated with these big companies. It’ll hurt their pockets if they don’t block it

On the one hand, handling 8K video is amazing. (that level of video itself is facetious, but that level of bandwidth is insane)
On the other hand, "Just one more universal cable standard bro, just one more."
