I’m on the fence tho. I work in the corporate world and they PUSH US TO USE AI LIKE A MFER. so teaching the kids how to use generative AI can be a good tool. So maybe to not write their essay, but teach them how to use it properly. So when they go into the adult world they’ll be ready to have a tool

You can write a paper and use AI as a tool. But copy and paste the assignment into AI and have it write for you is not using it as a tool.

You can 100% tell anything is written by AI from the tone and sentence structure. But if it were me, I would have the students write an essay the first week of class, by hand, during class…and use that as the baseline to compare against their assignments.

Teachers use AI for instructions, students use AI to do the work, teachers use AI to grade the work. This means GPAs are no longer representative of actual students. We are so cooked . Just throw the whole education system away fr.

I had a friend that came from another country to do college in my town. She was doing her English paper and she copied the prompt to translate it to understand it better in her language. She read the white in her language and thought it was part of her prompt. She added it into her work. Ofc the teacher ends up talking to her. She explained it to the teacher but I think the teacher still gave a consequence for it. It just sucks if a teacher doesn’t understand foreign exchange students copy and paste to translate the prompt.

This is annoying because I’ve sat and WATCHED my co worker write entire essays after doing all the work to gather her information and it still marked majority of her paper as “Ai generated” so happy I’m not in school anymore
