As much as I agree that hoyo is problematic as a whole, I think it’s a black and white reasoning to base someone’s moral compass upon whether they play the game or not, you don’t have to like everything to play a game, criticism and consumption of media can go hand in hand, and most of the time, these “boycotts” don’t really work, especially when we are talking about a multi billion dollar company like hoyo, because people would just come back as soon as the issue is “not trending anymore”, what I’ve seen so far these people are just performative af, everyone loves to become a voice of marginalized groups for the sake of being seen as the “righteous one”, but as soon as their audience disappears, suddenly nobody wants to talk about oppression and other issues anymore. That being said, you can dislike some parts of the game and still play it, and no you’re not racist or misogynistic if you play genshin, but if you try to defend natlan and the designs of the female characters, then I think that’s a whole different story
