Leather vs vegan leather: which is really more sustainable? This has been an ongoing conversation in fashion, and there are lots of perspectives on it. From my experience working with different shoe materials over the past 10+ years as a shoe desginer, I can say it’s rarely as simple as “real leather = good” or “vegan leather = bad”, or the other way around. Each material has its own strengths, challenges, and trade-offs. In this video I share some of the insights I’ve learned by comparing cow leather, PU, and mycelium leather. My goal isn’t to tell you which is “best,” but to give you more context so you can decide what matters most to you. 😉 Key takeaway: Understanding how materials are made and how long they last can help us all make more informed fashion choices. No material is perfect, but durability and good care can make a huge difference. My advice: look after your shoes, condition leather, repair where possible, and extend the lifecycle of each item.
