My husband and I bought a new toyota tundra and our interest rate is 2.99% over the life of the loan we will “only” be playing $1,500-$2,000 in interest.. we planned on trying to pay it off early but at this point I think we will re-evaluate in a couples years and see.

May I ask, how is paying this car off early smart? My dad (who managed a bank) always told me that the car is the one thing you don’t want to buy cash or pay off early because as soon as you drive it off the lot it loses value. And if, GOD FORBID, you have complete loss of it, you never truly get your full investment back. And then you go in to pay even more for a new one. Genuinely curious on your take.
