my parents had my agong name me my taiwanese name after they put my english name on the birth certificate and he named me 楷倫 which is just the phonetic characters for my english name Kailyn 🧍♀️it’s easy to remember but like im kinda sad my mandarin name doesn’t really have meaning and isn’t even like a real name. its just sounds. then ive asked my parents why they even named me Kailyn and they said they like Kaitlyn but wanted to be different. so both of my names have no meaning. 😭

I’m the opposite! My birth certificate name is EnglishFirstname ChineseName ChineseLastName. I’m half Chinese and fairly white presenting so it confuses many people! My white mum often calls me by my Chinese name!

Out of the three adopted from China I was the only one that kept part of my Asian name in my middle name. I was also 8 while my other two was only were infant. I actually went by my middle name all the way through high school so when someone does call it o actually am shocked and caught off guard
