Things I have Learnt :

they work on a dynamic pricing model, so they allocate a set number of seats at each price bracket. first class is the easiest way to explain....most airlines have A and F class, A being the cheaper more restrictive booking class, and F being the fully flexible or less restrictive.....but the price difference is crazy in the 2, but this happens across Econ, Prem and Business class. so in Econ there maybe 20 booking classes, and they cover the promo fares (the ones you get on points or credit card rewards) from the cheaper seats to the fully flexible....! then they add in shoulder seasons, minimum stays and that's pretty much how it's all priced! TADAA!!
