people are too rough on the crock pot, because you throw a roast in one of those things with some beef broth, lard, and vegetables and you have a perfectly made roast thats nearly impossible to fuck up

sounds weird but add sliced banana peppers and a bit of the juice to your pot roast. the slow cooking takes out the acidity and slight spice and it adds a whole level of flavor
