As an expat, I have enough experience and qualifications from my home country to find a good job. Yet, since moving to the Netherlands, I keep facing rejection. If I apply for jobs that match my experience, I’m often rejected because I don’t speak Dutch. If I apply for less demanding jobs, I’m rejected because I’m considered overqualified. It’s frustrating. The Netherlands has a huge labour shortage, and almost everyone speaks English, yet it seems there is often no willingness—or patience—to look beyond the first impression and the initial profile of a person. As a HR specialist,could you share your opinion about this ?

This is gold, I wish I knew. They told me a week before that I was going to have a permanent contract but they forgot to tell me, and I decided not to continue so I was not worried about the lack of communication. That was my only temporary contract 😅.

my boyfriend had similar situation 😅 they told him over a month before his contract ended that it's gonna be extended but 3 weeks after that they changed their mind and fired him 🤓 he went to the lawyer and got his money back

After 3 years of temporary contracts they are not renewing so I don’t get a full contract. How is the process of unemployment and which documents I need to get the unemployment subsidy 🥹?

my boss had told me through email that he was going to renew my contract a few weeks ago - but yesterday, now that I'm injured, he called me and told me over the phone that they won't be renewing my contract after all, should I email to get email confirmation or will I get more by not reminding them to tell me through writing? Also can I get compensation for them firing me right as I'm injured making it harder to get new work?
