@mckernarchitecture: An insane amount of custom-fabricated bricks.. 🧱 The Dr Chau Chak Wing Building at UTS, by Frank Gehry, 2015. The facade of this building contains over 320,000 sandstone bricks across five custom types, every one hand laid to achieve the iconic curved form. Gehry’s original sketch described a treehouse, the thought if a growing learning organism with many branches of thought. what's more interesting is that he tried to reduce as much use of carbon footprint as possible to avoid excess environmental damage and for it to be as much sustainable as it can be .
