@coachpennylove: Apparently The Guardian has decided to create my entire week’s worth of dating content in 24 hours. 🤣 💋 Apparently, we’re in a “kissing recession.” More than a third of British adults surveyed say they’re kissing romantically less often than five years ago. And everyone seems worried. Me? I’m not convinced this is bad news. For years, I’ve taught women not to kiss on the first date. Not because kissing is wrong or because you need to play hard to get. Because a small boundary gives you information. If he leans in, sweetly say: “Not yet… this is a little too fast for me.” 💕 Then watch what happens. Because it isn’t really a rejection. It’s a boundary. If he respects it and happily continues getting to know you? Wonderful. If he pressures you, sulks, ignores your boundary or disappears when he realises physical intimacy isn’t progressing quickly? Also wonderful information. You may have discovered something on date ONE that otherwise could have taken weeks. It also disrupts that ridiculous dating conveyor belt: First date → kiss Third date → sex No. There is no universal timetable for intimacy. Someone primarily looking for quick physical access may decide you’re too much work and remove himself from your dating pool. Excellent. That’s the filter working. 😂 So perhaps instead of asking whether romance is dying, we should ask: Are people finally becoming more comfortable saying “not yet”? I’m completely in favour of kissing. 💋 But I’m even more in favour of women taking intimacy at their own pace. The kiss isn’t the test.
