Can a woman who wears trousers not enter heaven? Three biblical truths that break religious bondage. “If you wear trousers, the devil will mark you.” “If you wear lipstick, God will no longer hear your prayers.” Today, I am not going to give you my personal opinion. I am going to share three undeniable biblical truths that completely expose this religious lie. The first truth: The Bible never says this. 1 Peter chapter 3 clearly says: “Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.” Please read this passage carefully. What the Bible teaches is this: Do not focus only on outward appearance. The Bible never says that it is sinful for a woman to wear trousers. It also never says that wearing make-up is something God hates. There is not a single verse that says a woman cannot enter heaven because of the way she dresses. These are rules made by people, not the Word of God. The second truth: What God truly looks at is not outward appearance. 1 Samuel 16:7 says: “For man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.” Do you want to know what God truly hates? A woman may wear the longest skirts, never wear make-up and attend church every Sunday, yet her heart may still be full of jealousy, bitterness, slander and gossip. On the other hand, a woman who truly loves God and wears jeans may be closer to Him than someone who looks deeply religious on the outside but whose heart is far from God. The third truth: Holiness does not come from outward appearance. Holiness does not come from removing your make-up. Holiness is not determined by the length of your skirt. True cleansing comes through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. You cannot earn God’s favour through what you wear, and you will not lose His grace simply because you wear trousers. Of course, as daughters of God, we should dress modestly and appropriately and should not deliberately tempt others. This is clearly taught in the Bible. But you should never live under condemnation and fear simply because you wear trousers. That fear does not come from God. It comes from religious bondage.
