@sheldricktrust: How it Started for Ndotto → How it’s Going Today! When we rescued Ndotto in 2014, he was the smallest elephant we had ever seen. We’re not sure how he lost his mother, but the resourceful little orphan inserted himself into the nearest group of similarly sized creatures, which is how he came to be found amongst a herd of sheep and goats. Luckily, he was in sympathetic company, and the rest is history. Today, Ndotto is 12 years old and leading a wild life in Tsavo East National Park, but he remains very connected to the family who raised him. He continues to visit us most mornings, popping by to say hello before going about his day. When our Voi team wakes up and finds a large elephant peacefully standing outside, they know exactly who it is – sweet Ndotto, enjoying a few home comforts before he’s off again.
