The problem with the Janine Vaughan investigation is that so many people who have come out of the woodwork with “evidence” are themselves unreliable witnesses. That makes it incredibly difficult to separate genuine information from rumour, exaggeration and hindsight. But at the same time, I struggle with the argument that every suspicious observation meant nothing. If you genuinely saw someone in a car with their hands tied, would you honestly think, “Nothing to see here, carry on”? Of course not. There are so many pieces of this case that raise questions — the difficulty is determining which ones are actually credible. I could go on, but you get my drift.
