@refreshhomeimprovements: Spackle, drywall compound, hot mud… they’re NOT the same thing.👇 Drywall compound is great for taping, skim coating and finishing. Spackle is better for quick, smaller repairs. Setting compound (hot mud) is the move when you need strength, deeper fills, or a repair that sets FAST. Use the right mud for the job and drywall gets a whole lot easier. #drywall #drywallrepair #DIY #homeimprovement #contractor
which one is water proof? of better for the back of shower walls?

And here’s a pro tip, if you mix quickset with mud it will dry faster than regular mud but still have the same sanding properties of regular mud. I can’t tell you the ratio though, that’s a trade secret 🤫

This was very helpful, thank you! I'm removing batten strips and covering the gaps with joint compound but I wasn't sure that was the best thing to use. I have to use lots of thin layers with sanding in-between because the walls aren't perfectly flush (modular home. )

i just bought a piece of drywall and practiced with easy sand 5 .. helped immensely , and now , texture and holes ain’t no problem . especially with the improvement in texture sprays they are way better than they have been in the past , haven’t tried skim coating for smooth finishes , that’s next eventually . but learning this greco now .. will save me tons of time
