ChatGPT is great. It is also the wrong tool for a lot of jobs. One of the biggest mistakes people make with AI is trying to force one general-purpose model to do everything. Research, meetings, video, knowledge management, app building, design, agents. You end up with a mediocre result, then assume AI is the problem. It usually isn’t. The better approach is to build a small stack of specialized AI apps and tools, each one chosen for the job it is best at. - Obsidian is where I’d go for a real knowledge system. It gives you a place to build connected notes, research, ideas, and long-term context instead of leaving useful information trapped across random chats and documents. - Hermes is much more interesting when you want an autonomous agent instead of another chatbot. Give it multi-step work, tools, memory, and a broader objective, then let it operate across a longer task. - Higgsfield is the obvious choice here for AI video. If the goal is cinematic shots, visual storytelling, social content, or polished generated video, I would rather use a tool built around video creation than try to make a general assistant handle the whole process. - Lovable is for building. If you have an idea for a website, app, prototype, internal tool, or simple software product, it gives you a much shorter path from idea to something you can use. - Read.ai is for meetings. It records, transcribes, summarizes, and pulls out action items so you do not have to spend half the meeting taking notes or trying to remember who agreed to what. - Ideogram is one of the tools I reach for when the image itself needs to look designed. Posters, ads, graphics, typography-heavy images, and visual concepts tend to benefit from a model built for that kind of output. This is the part people miss when they ask, “What is the best AI?” There isn’t one answer. The better question is, “What am I trying to get done?” Then pick the AI app or tool built for that job. You do not need 50 subscriptions. You do need to stop treating ChatGPT like it should be your research analyst, video studio, meeting assistant, knowledge base, designer, developer, and autonomous agent all at once. Start with one general-purpose model. Then add specialized AI apps and tools when the job demands it. Save this if you’re building out your AI stack. #AIApps #AITools #ArtificialIntelligence #ChatGPT #AITips
