My dad called the school and said “she’ll be out the rest of the week.” He came into my room at 5 AM and said hurry we have a flight to catch. I said 1. Where to and 2. I have nothing packed. He said “we will buy stuff when we get there.” My dad died 3 years ago and that’s one of my most treasured memories.

after my first breakup my parents were supposed ot pick me up from the library, they were a bit later than usual and didn't tell me to come outside when they got there, instead my step-dad walked into the library with a rose, handed it to me with a bag of skincare, snacks, and a new pair of earbuds. my big brother told them. 🥹🥹🥹🥹

My older step sister went through a break up the same weekend I went through my first. I had been dating him for a year (a long time at 15!!!) she was 19 and had been with hers for 4 years. In hindsight hers was a bigger deal than mine but she never made me feel that way. We spent all weekend in her room watching romcoms and talking about everything. We cried, laughed, and cried some more. But by the end of the weekend we both knew the break up was for the best and we came out of it closer 🥹

my dad would slide songs under my door and tape them to my door for me to find if he knew something was wrong but didnt know quite what to do about it.😂 we also went to a lot of movies, and did other stuff to try and move on from things that happened in my life before I got there. now if I needed like $20 for a drink or snack he would send it no questions asked.

My ex had a 2008 Honda civic that my dad help him to buy, we dated for 4 years and I never had a car cuz I was the type of girls my parents would drive me anywhere, two weeks before the break up my ex made me walk from work to our apartment 4 days in a row cuz it was not his fault I didn’t have a car. When I told my dad he immediately put 5K in my bank account under "car down payment" Paid for a moving company to go pack all my stuff from that apartment told my brother to help me find a nice apartment for myself, send me move in money and first month of rent. He was out of the country for work but made sure I could handle the break up like a professional. He also went a little pity and texted my ex good luck with your 2008 Honda civic lmfao.

lowkey a little jealous. My parents told me to NEVER cry over a boy/man. Even during breakups they told me to suck it up as its life and was called ridiculous. I learned to get over breakups as quick as three days. idk if its toxic but idk i feel like i could care less about them. i am married now and my husband is super caring.

My partner passed, my mum and dad stayed at our house every night, cooked me every meal, bought me anything and everything, walked my dog, did the food shopping, watched all the shitty movies I wanted, cleaned up after me for months until my dad built me and my pup our own little unit back at home with everything i could need so I’m back close with them but could take all my things my partner and I had together. I AM BLESSED. They are the COOLEST.
