@krishnachaytanya: SQL vs NoSQL, explained in 9 seconds. It's not about speed, it's about how you query your database. Ask for a record by a field you didn't design around (an email that isn't the primary key) and NoSQL, tuned for the access patterns you planned, scans the whole collection. SQL's relational engine lets you query and JOIN any field ad-hoc. But look the same record up by its KEY, and both return in one read. So neither one wins: • SQL = fixed schema, joins, ad-hoc queries • NoSQL = flexible schema, known access patterns, horizontal scale (scales out) Not better. Different. Match the database to your query. Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra. Save this for your next system design interview, and follow for more backend concepts visualized. #systemdesign #database #sql #nosql #backend
