I built an app because I was tired of lying awake at night. 🌙 I’m a software engineer, and for a long time I had a problem I couldn’t solve with code. Sleep. There were nights when I was completely exhausted, but my brain just wouldn’t switch off. So I started trying everything I could find. Rain sounds on YouTube. Water sounds. White noise. Sleep music. Long ambient videos. I also spent a lot of time reading Reddit posts from people going through the same thing. And honestly, the worst part was being tired, wanting to sleep, and still having to search for the “right” video or sound every night. Eventually I thought: What if I could create my own environment instead of just listening to one sound? That’s what made me build Dozora. The main thing I wanted was the ability to mix different sounds together. For example: 🌧️ Rain + distant thunder 🔥 Fireplace + rain 🌲 Forest + birds + gentle wind ☕ Café ambience + rain 🌊 Ocean + soft wind You can create your own combination and let it play for as long as you want. For me, there is something different about hearing several sounds together. A single rain loop can sometimes feel like you're listening to a recording. But when you mix rain, distant thunder, wind or other ambient sounds, it can start to feel more like a place you're actually sitting in. Like you're inside a small cabin while it's raining outside. Or sitting somewhere quiet while rain is falling around you. Or just having some gentle background activity instead of complete silence. That was the feeling I wanted to create. So I built Dozora, added sound mixing, calming sounds, meditation and sleep sessions, and after months of working on it, I finally put it on the App Store. It's free to try. 👉 https://apps.apple.com/us/app/dozora-sleep-calm-meditate/id6736873837 I’m not going to tell you that it will cure insomnia or replace professional help. I built this simply because I needed something like it myself. If you also spend nights searching YouTube for rain, water, white noise or anything that might help you finally relax, maybe give it a try. Put together a mix that feels like your own little peaceful place, press play, put the phone down, and just let the sounds run. Maybe it will help you too. And if you try it, I’d genuinely love to know what kind of mix helps you relax the most. ❤️🌙
