Just TO BE CLEAR, parts do not determine cost of labor. $2 part can call for 6 hours of book time and a $500 parts could take 30 minutes. So to claim parts were only $200 so I knew they were ripping me off, should of instead asked what in the book time, hourly rate and then done math to verify against another persons quote for book time hours to see if they are ripping you off. ILL SAY LOUDER FOR THOSE IN BACK. PARTS COSTS DO NOT DICTATE LABOR TIMES FOR BILLABLE HOURS

Problem is you’ve now introduced a complexity in the world of economics because legit auto mechanics pay tax insurance. They’re paying rent on their property, their leasing and none of that applies to these Mom and pop mechanics that pull up the AutoZone so of course they can charge you less they don’t have the overhead so I’m not sure that’s not fairly fair to legit mechanics with a job like when it’s street vendor comes and parks on the street next to a restaurant. They don’t have any expenses other than their own.

I have used this service. Shop wanted $1800 to replace A/C compressor. I bought Genuine GM compressor for $289 and was charged $200 for the install. I was offered tacos and a chair to sit in. Hard working families here!
