@sabfortony: i’ve been so proud of myself for fighting through the life i once felt was impossible to live in. i’ve begun to love and even celebrate this version of me. but as i am becoming, i am also crushed that the one person i want watching me grow and change isn’t here. every accomplishment, every proud moment i wonder what tony would say to me. i know he’s so proud of me and i know he’s watching over me, but that’ll never make up for the very sucky reality that he’s not physically here. #grief #griefandloss #griefjourney #HealingJourney #widow
this was actually one of the first things i thought of when my mom died. she will never get to see my siblings graduate college, she will never get to see us get married and have kids. she will never get to see our family grow and prosper. and that broke me so hard

when you realize he’s really never coming back. NEVER really coming back. the thought that i won’t ever see my dad again in this lifetime is soul crashing. i WON’T ever see him again. won’t ever feel his hug, hear his voice, his laugh, his jokes. I MISS MY DAD. I was 12. TWELVE. i was still a child in so many ways.

I feel you!!!💔. I got myself a car and I’m driving now(coz I have to) but he tried to get me to drive his car when he was here so he could “be a passenger prince”.. now I zone out while driving thinking of how proud he’d be of me and my psychotic driving skills😅❤️🩹 I miss him so much😔

After my dad died, I stopped feeling the need to just give and give to everyone. I started thinking, I don't want to cook for people who aren't my mom or my sister. I don't want to lend money or give expensive gifts anymore. I don't want to give more to other people than I was ever able to give to my own dad.
I know my dad probably wouldn't want me to think this way. But grief taught me something I never expected it to: I don't have to keep giving so much of myself to people who wouldn't do the same for me.
Losing someone made me realize that my time, effort, money, and love are not things I should give endlessly just because I can. I can be generous without constantly overextending myself. And I can choose who deserves that part of me.
Maybe that's one of the things grief changes in you youstop giving out of obligation and start giving with intention.

before my uncle died which happened to be my mom's only little brother and happened to be my older brother by treatment he would always say "you should bring me here" whenever we're watching tourist spots in television, places he longed to see. he grew up in poverty left to tend for himself. he never get to call his mom or dad even before he walks, he does not asked for material things. he likes music and is an eletrical engineer, he loves it when i have a dysfunctional wired earphones bc he would get a chance to make it work those are the only things he would ask for. gone too soon by age 23 due to illness. i'm 24 now, unfair to live longer without him. now i get to travel in those places there's this guilt in grief nowhere to be place because he's no longer here and it taught me a different perspective "these places to see and people i meet, i will collect all of them so i can have plenty to talk about when we meet again" i still miss him everyday and wishes he's still here and since not, i wish afterlife up there is kinder and richer on his side. 🫶🏻 let's do this sabrina, let's collect more memories to bring to them. let's cry and laugh more.

Lost my mom before finishing my studies. She had so much hope for me and sometimes when i work, i just cry thinking about all the things that changed and that i can't show to her. One day when she was sick, i joked about a date for marriage with my boyfriend (three months later at that time). And she cried all day because she thought she will not be there, and i was sure she would be but she was right. She passed away one month before the date i told her. I can't imagine a wedding or having children without her being with me

I feel this to my core, getting married, graduating, and now pregnant and they will never hold my baby. My baby will never know their voice, their personality, their love, their jokes. While they were such a huge part of my life my childhood ♥️grief is so hard

Sabrina.. I want to thank you for articulating what being a widow can feel like. I lost my beautiful husband 3.5 years ago. I’m a different person now and although I’m proud of the progress I’ve made, it’s hard to fathom that he will never know the person he helped shape through life and death. I’m proud of both of us for choosing life after death. It’s not an easy decision. It’s one I have to make day after day. But we do it to honour them and ourselves too 🫶

Einstein proved energy is never created or destroyed, it simply changes form. Tony may not be here in the form that you love and yearn for, but his energy remains. I believe he sees you. His love is eternal. I’m so sorry you face this hardship- it’s so unfair. Sending you love- from a far off viewer who gets to see who you’ve become, through the act of what you’ve overcome ❤️

I just spent the evening watching some old photos of me when I was a baby. And my mom was there, younger than I am now. And she was oh so beautiful. I miss so much telling her simply how proud I am of her, for everything she had done for me. I just know that my tears will always be for loving her so much, never the contrary. And I really hope she knows that.
