katrina itself wasn’t really the issue, if it wasn’t for the levees failing, it would’ve been almost like any other hurricane, and new orleans would’ve recovered in a month max. it also didn’t help that the government didn’t do anything for a while

For anyone wanting to know. Till this day there is so much rubbish around New Orleans. If you go outside of downtown town and the main area you will mostly definitely find ruined docks, buildings, and houses. It’s been more than 10 years since that happened and New Orleans is just about 70% recovered.
