everything I’ve learned about interviews ⬇️ 1. a virtual interview is still a real interview - you should show up professionally and treat it like you were going into the office 2. you should never read directly off of your notes for an entire interview - it makes you look unprepared and is disengaging for the person interviewing you 3. if you don’t know what you’re talking about, don’t pretend and never go into corporate word vomit / slop speak mode - you sound like you don’t know what you’re talking about and it’s better to just be humble and say you’re not sure, or use a similar example 4. there’s never really a reason for being late to an interview, whether in person or online - if you are going to be late make sure your interviewer knows ahead of time and apologise as soon as you’re there, it’s important you show that you’re respectful of people’s time 5. interviews only really ever cover 3 topics - who are you, why this role/company, and what relevant experience do you have…that’s it 6. always interview a company back - have your mental checklist of what you’re looking for, and have questions prepped so ask the interviewer(s) as well #corporatelife #interviews #interview #jobmarket #careeradvice
