My rheumatologist has recommended a couple of biologicals to me. Both can cause heart failure! That scares me so much! Still looking for one that will suit me

I can only speak for myself I have systemic sine sclerosis ( scleroderma with organ involvement) this has been a life saver for me I have Rituximab infusions every six months been on them 2 years and it has helped me have a better quality of life it’s not 100 percent but it does reduce my symptoms by around 90 percent and for around 4.5 months I will take that my lung function is stable my heart is good joints better than without I do take hydrocloqochloroquine too and this helps too there is no cure for me but management is my best option

Four yeas in Cimzia, have done great till a TB scare, latent so back on Cimzia next week, thankfully.

I'm on my third treatment to combat my Ankylosing Spondylitis and none of them has ever worked....it's so frustrating.I haven't had any side effects but I haven't had any improvement either😞I'm so jelous of those who get remission with their biologic

Agree, to an extent. I contracted c diff on actemra, my ID doc and rheumy met and decided that I cannot be on biologics because the risk of developing c diff again. I did a transplant to treat, but will likely always carry it… I now take 12 mg of methotrexate daily.

Ok now talk about how biologics can just stop working out of the blue after 3-5 years of doing amazingly well 😩😩😩
